Day 159 ~ stairs
Let me tell you about me & stairs (and steps, too). I have never done well with them. Most recently (at least I consider it recent, although it happened in '98...), I had a small problem with a bus step in Chicago that ended in an extended hospital stay to repair a 'crushed' (according to the dr. in the ER) ankle. Last night, I had another run-in with a step here at home. My left foot stayed on the top step, my right foot slipped, I ended up on my butt with my left knee twisted at an odd angle. Ouch. I iced it, but I knew that would not fix it. I woke up this morning at 3:00 and tried to hobble to the bathroom. Another ouch. Steve (wonderful Steve) got me some Tylenol and I watched the news to get my mind off the throb in my knee. I finally fell back to sleep around 5. And here it is - 7:20 AM. It still hurts but I am going to work with my trusty cane - the one I still have from my ankle fiasco. It's a good thing that turkey is a 'put it in the oven and forget it' kind of meal... UPDATE: there's nothing like an ace bandage and lots of Tylenol...it's a miracle!
